The Long Bay Golf Club

The Long Bay Golf Club is a highly sought-after North Myrtle Beach golf course, which you can play for much less than any other design by Jack Nicklaus. The layout is a little more forgiving than the designer’s usual creations, but the course still requires plenty of shotmaking to score well.

Long Bay features the world’s only elevated green on a par 3: the 7th hole plays from an island in a lake and ends on an elevated green surrounded by bunkers. Even though it’s one of Long Bay’s most famous holes, you must be accurate with your approach shots all around this course, as water and sand are plentiful everywhere.

While the Long Bay Golf Club has no amenities like an indoor restaurant or driving range, it does have several great outdoor restaurants where players can fill up before or after their rounds. It also has fantastic course conditions year-round and draws rave reviews from everyone who plays it.

The Hackler Course

The Hackler Course features a traditional layout with wide-open fairways and not much in the way of bunkers or water hazards. Hackler is a great course for beginners to play their first rounds of golf because it’s so playable, but also offers plenty of challenges for players who have more experience on the links as well.

The greens at the Hackler Course are natural seaside grass, and fairly large with some undulation, making them very forgiving for newer players and challenging for those who have more skill. The Hackler Course has been rated one of the easiest courses to play in Myrtle Beach by Golf Digest magazine and is good for players of all skill levels.

The Hackler Course was built around scenic ponds and lakes which come into play on several holes. It also offers incredible ocean views which make playing there even more enjoyable, especially when paired with the mild South Carolina weather that makes this area so popular among golfers. The layout is easy to walk, but if you would rather ride, carts are available.

Azalea Sands has a great layout that golfers of all skill levels can enjoy with plenty of bunkers and water hazards but still accessible enough for those just learning the game with multiple tee boxes on every hole. Eagle Nest Golf Club

Eagle Nest Golf Club is the only course to bear the name of legendary architect Dan Maples, who designed more than 50 courses in North Carolina alone. But Maples’ name isn’t the only thing Eagle Nest has going for it—the price is hard to beat as well. At $32 for 18 holes with a cart per golfer in peak season, it’s no wonder that this course has been named one of the best values in Myrtle Beach.

The par-72 layout features rolling fairways and plenty of water hazards. The narrow fairways make accuracy a must on this challenging course, but not to worry: there are five sets of tees that range from 4,950 yards (the forward tees) to 6,900 yards (the championship tees). By playing from the correct tees for their skill level, golfers can add some distance and challenge to their round without being overwhelmed.
